La Fundación Arquia acaba de publicar el número 37 de su colección arquia / documental, la película Peter Zumthor: La práctica de la arquitectura (The Practice of Architecture: Visiting Peter Zumthor), dirigida por Michael Blackwood en 2012, dos años después de que se le concediera a Zumthor el premio Pritzker.
Este no es un documental convencional sobre un arquitecto en el que la cámara va recorriendo sus obras mientras se van oyendo comentarios más o menos interesantes sobre ellas, Blackwood opta por filmar una entrevista que le hace Kenneth Frampton a Zumthor en su estudio y su casa en Haldestein (Suiza). El número 24 de arquia / documental es otra película dirigida por Blackwood, esta vez una entrevista de Frampton con Alvaro Siza, en la que iban visitando las edificaciones del arquitecto portugués, sin embargo, Frampton y Zumthor permanecen en el interior de la casa y el estudio, salvo por un pequeño paseo por el jardín salvaje que une ambos edificios; lo que no impide que la obra de este arquitecto se entienda, gracias a sus fascinantes explicaciones, las maquetas y las fotografías de Hélène Binet que ha trabajado con Zumthor casi desde sus inicios.
